UK Wholesale fruit and vegetable prices:

Strawberry prices down 31%, asparagus falls 38%

During the current reporting week, the average price of apples from the Cox's orange group declined to £1.36 per kilogram, down from the previous week's average of £1.45. This marks a weekly price decrease of £0.09, or approximately 6%, according to the latest data.

Strawberries also experienced a notable price drop. The current week's average stands at £7.21 per kilogram, compared to the previous week's average of £10.50. This £3.29 reduction reflects a significant 31% decrease in price over the week.

The price of asparagus recorded the largest decrease among the selected items. The average dropped from £16.43 per kilogram last week to £10.14 this week. This represents a weekly decline of £6.29, equating to a 38% reduction.

These figures reflect accurate price changes as recorded in the weekly comparison, illustrating substantial week-on-week fluctuations in the UK fruit and vegetable market.
