Citrus Dashboard - 19 May:

Greece orange prices up 47% from Feb to Apr 2025

Orange prices in February, March, and April 2024/2025 showed divergent trends across four major southern European producing countries, according to available market data in €/100 kg.

In Spain, prices followed an upward trajectory, rising from €81 in February to €84 in March, and reaching €90 in April. This places Spanish orange prices above last year's levels for the same period and trending higher than the five-year average. Spain's pricing has moved consistently within the historical maximum range for the season.

In contrast, Portugal experienced a downward trend in orange prices during the same period. Prices stood at €82 in February, then dropped to €76 in March and further to €65 in April. This marks a substantial decline and positions current prices below both the 2023/2024 figures and the five-year average.

Greece also recorded a sharp increase in April. Starting from €49 in February, prices rose slightly to €53 in March before jumping to €72 in April, rebounding well above the five-year average for that month.

Meanwhile, Italy's orange prices decreased from €141 in February to €129 in March but rebounded to €137 in April. Prices throughout this period remained significantly above both the five-year average and the previous season's values.
