Blueberry supply steady as California peppers hold firm

The transition of blueberries from South America to the United States via Mexico has progressed smoothly. California's harvest began two weeks ago, with production volumes climbing steadily, thanks to favorable weather. Peak harvest is anticipated soon, ensuring a robust supply through Father's Day. Following California's peak, production will move to Oregon, sustaining fresh blueberry availability.

California is in a high production phase for green bell peppers, with consistent market supply due to stable volumes. The prices for extra-large and large green bell peppers remain steady as Mexico's traditionally supplementary exports have slowed. California's domestic yield continues to meet the demand, maintaining stable market conditions. Farmers are closely monitoring supply levels to ensure reliable green bell pepper availability.

Favorable weather patterns play a role in enhancing crop yields and strengthening market supplies. As the season progresses, growers watch for any changes that could affect future harvests. The dynamic agricultural market adapts to seasonal shifts and consumer preferences, with blueberries transitioning through different regions and bell peppers maintaining stable production.

Separately, Peruvian avocado output is set to recover in 2025, with exports expected to hit 630,000 metric tons, marking a two percent rise from the previous year.
