Peru's mandarin exports experienced remarkable growth in April, exceeding the levels recorded in 2024. 22,979 tons were exported, generating revenue of $27.59 million. This is 126% more volume and 128% more value than in the same period of last year, with a stable average price of $1.20 per kilogram, and $1.19 per kilogram in 2024.
Fresh mandarins dominated the export market, accounting for 98% of shipments, equivalent to 22,704 tons with a total value of $26.98 million, at an average price of $1.19 per kilogram. Canned mandarins contributed the remaining 2% of the export value and were traded at $2.23 per kilogram.
Peru exported its mandarins to 22 destinations. The Netherlands was the main destination, with a 31% share, which corresponds to 7,286 tons and $8.59 million, for $1.18 per kilogram. The United States followed closely, with a 27% share, 6,100 tons worth $7.44 million, and a price of $1.22 per kilogram. Canada ranked third with a 12% share, 2,908 tons worth $3.19 million, and a price of $1.10 per kilogram. The United Kingdom and Japan completed the top five destinations with a 9% and 6% share, respectively.
