Odisha ships first Amrapali mangoes to Abu Dhabi

Odisha embarks on its agri-export journey as the first consignment of premium Amrapali mangoes, cultivated in Patnagarh, Balangir, sets off to Abu Dhabi. This marks the state's initial endeavor in shipping mangoes internationally, driven by Patnagarh Pragati Farmer Producer Company Limited (FPC). Supported by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment (DA&FE) and APEDA, the export was facilitated with Palladium's technical backing and PRB Superfoods.

The Chief Minister of Odisha emphasized, "Odisha's farmers are making their mark globally. With strategic support from DA&FE and dedicated partners like Palladium, our smallholders are stepping into international markets with confidence. This first export to Abu Dhabi is not just a milestone—it's a symbol of what's possible when government, grassroots, and private partners come together." The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, who noted the global reach of Patnagarh's agri-products.

On the same day, 2.5 MT of mangoes traveled to London via NSCBI airport, indicating the international interest in Western Odisha's produce. This export activity aligns with the Promotion and Stabilization of Farmer Producer Organizations (PSFPO) Project, executed by Palladium and the DA&FE Department, and supported by the Gates Foundation in collaboration with NABARD, with APEDA coordinating as the export partner.

As Balangir emerges as an agri-export hub, including mangoes and superfoods, local farmers continue to capture national and global attention.
