During the first three months of 2025, Peru exported 1,133 tons of garlic for $1.6 million. This is 29% less volume and 32% less value than in the same period of 2024. The average price fell by 3% to $1.38 per kilogram.
In January, 90% of the garlic exported was in its fresh presentation. 1,104 tons of fresh garlic were shipped for $1.4 million and at an average price of $1.28 per kilogram, i.e., 9% less than the previous year. Garlic paste exports followed with a 9% share, 27 tons worth $143,133, and an average price of $5.36 per kilogram.
Peru exported its garlic to nine destinations. Ecuador was the main destination with a 35% share, acquiring 768 tons worth $543,000. The United States followed with 140 tons worth $450,400 and a 29% share. Mexico ranked third with 91 tons worth $300,459 and a 19% share; and Martinique and Guadeloupe ranked fourth with 24 tons worth $ 86,000 and a 6% share each.
