"We also strengthened our presence at Macfrut 2025 this year, an important opportunity to reinforce our market position and expand our business prospects on an international scale. At the event, we showcased our flagship products, including the latest batches of artichokes and late-season Tarocco oranges from Meli, Sant'Alfio, and Ovale. Our traditional and seedless grape varieties, cultivated under the Sicilian sun, stood out as the highlight of our production. It was an engaging event and a valuable occasion to explore innovation and identify emerging trends in the fruit and vegetable sector," say Sammy and Mimmo Fisicaro, owners of Colleroni, a company based in the province of Syracuse.

Since its founding in the early 1990s, the Colleroni Company has grown and now offers a wide variety of fruit and vegetable products. These include citrus fruits, pomegranates, watermelons, and table grapes from Mazzarrone, as well as PGI-certified lemons from the Sicilian province of Syracuse. The company pays close attention to every step of the production process, from selecting suitable soils and cultivation methods to harvesting, packaging, and shipping. The Colleroni brand also invests heavily in research and development.
"We've noticed a lot of interest in Sicilian grapes. The first ones to kick off the campaign are the traditional varieties, Victoria and Black Magic. However, for larger volumes, we have to wait at least 15 days. In general, the 2025 campaign seems to be characterized by higher yields. Sicilian grapes are known for reaching markets well in advance of other countries thanks to their favorable climate and greenhouse cultivation. The table grape market has undergone significant changes in recent years, with new seedless varieties becoming the preferred choice in most countries due to consumer demand."
"In line with previous years, Colleroni will commence the table grape campaign with the initial harvests of Victoria, Black Magic, and the ARRA30 (seedless). The first two varieties, which cover the period from May to August, are expected to be highly successful from a commercial standpoint. Together with Apulia, Sicily is an important producer in this segment because it reaches markets well ahead of schedule. The ARRA30 variety will be commercially available from May 20 to the end of September."
"Today, the orientation of specialized grape production areas, such as the Sicilian area of Mazzarrone, is towards early seedless varieties, although traditional varieties remain very popular in Italy. The market certainly also demands them for their taste profile. More specifically, these varieties are resistant to plant diseases and frequent climatic stresses. Therefore, they do not require special agronomic interventions during the delicate production phases."
On Tuesday, 29 April 2025, the company received the prestigious Industria Felix 2025 award at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome. This marked the tenth year of the award. Colleroni and twelve other Sicilian companies received this national award. The one hundred most competitive companies of the year are from the regions of Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio, Umbria, Tuscany, Sardinia, and Sicily.
