Joining forces for the Holland Potato Hub at Potato Europe

Potato Europe will take place in Flevoland on 3 and 4 September. Horizon Flevoland, the Province of Flevoland, the Dutch Potato Organisation (NAO), and the Dutch General Inspection Service (NAK) will join forces and present themselves together in the Holland Potato Hub—a pavilion that showcases the strength of collaboration and connection in the potato sector.

At the heart of the sector
Potato Europe 2025 will take place in Lelystad, Flevoland. The province is known for its strong seed potato trade and as the home of innovative agricultural and post-harvest technologies that set global standards. Flevoland's fertile—but precious—farmland encourages entrepreneurs to keep innovating to optimise yields.

"Flevoland is the place where innovation, entrepreneurship, and food production come together. Potato Europe 2025 shows what is possible when government and industry work together. In the Holland Potato Hub, we celebrate not only the power of the potato, but especially the power of connection." – Jan Klopman, deputy, Flevoland Province.

From NAO pavilion to Holland Potato Hub
The NAO has been organising the NAO-Netherlands pavilion at Potato Europe events abroad for many years. There, the Dutch potato sector presents itself as one, with entrepreneurs and regional development organisations Impuls Zeeland and Horizon Flevoland under the banner of Trade and Innovate with the Dutch. With Potato Europe taking place in Flevoland in 2025, the NAO and Horizon Flevoland are joining forces with the Province of Flevoland and the NAK. Together, they will present themselves in one joint pavilion: the Holland Potato Hub, where the Netherlands presents itself as a united potato country.

With this joint initiative, the four parties demonstrate their shared commitment to a strong, innovative, and internationally competitive potato sector. By combining knowledge, networks, and visibility, the partners aim to emphasise the importance of cooperation throughout the chain, from cultivation and breeding to trade and inspection.

"Flevoland is leading the way in agricultural innovations. The Holland Potato Hub is a tangible example of this," – Toon van Dijk, deputy minister, Flevoland Province.

The Holland Potato Hub will serve as a central location at the fair for entrepreneurs, researchers, and government representatives. In addition to networking opportunities—including a joint NAO and NAK drinks reception—there will be cooking demonstrations by chef Sharon de Miranda and informative presentations, such as a sector study and a session by potato specialist Jacob Eising.

The four partners look forward to welcoming visitors to the Holland Potato Hub on 3 and 4 September.
