Brismark's app a UPL Tech Award finalist

Brismark's Brisbane Markets Price Report app has been named a finalist for the UPL Tech Innovation Award at the Horticulture Awards for Excellence, part of Hort Connections 2025. The award recognises technology-focused initiatives in the Australian and New Zealand fresh produce sector that deliver measurable value and impact.

Andrew Young, CEO of Brismark and Managing Director of Brisbane Markets Limited, noted that the Price Report app was launched in October last year and has since drawn positive responses from growers and grower groups for its emphasis on transparency. The app compiles real sales data from wholesalers operating on the Brisbane Markets trading floor, offering a reliable source of information on daily low, high, average, and most frequent prices across more than 160 produce lines.

Daily invoicing data is provided by over 90% of Brisbane Markets wholesalers and transformed into an easy-to-use mobile and web interface. Subscriptions start at less than the cost of a coffee per week. The report aims to address longstanding calls from grower groups, the Federal Government, and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for greater price transparency in centralised wholesale markets.

Young acknowledged his team's efforts in developing the app and congratulated all finalists and award recipients at Hort Connections 2025. He emphasised the importance of such innovations in supporting the horticulture industry's ability to meet the needs of consumers, communities, and other stakeholders.
