According to estimates drawn up on May 1st, 2025, "French peach production should reach
236,200 tons this year, a level equivalent to the production of 2024 and 7% above the average of 2020-2024."
2025 production expected to be stable compared to the previous year
National production of peaches and nectarines is expected to reach 236,200 tons in 2025 (7% above the average of the last five years). While volumes are similar to last year, there are disparities between regions.
Increase expected in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, decline in other regions
"In Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, production is expected to be 8% higher than in 2024, and 19% higher than the five-year average. This dynamic can be explained by the significant renewal of orchards: Young plantations, now in production, are offering better yields.
In Occitania, despite rain during flowering, yields are expected to be 3% higher than in 2024. With a decline in area under production (-8%), particularly in Roussillon, the total production is set to drop by 4% from last year.
In the Rhone Valley, the 4% reduction in surface area and losses due to frost at the end of March mean that production is estimated to be 6% lower than in 2024. Outside the affected areas, flowering has been abundant. The first harvests are scheduled for June 10th.
