LATAM Cargo Group and its subsidiaries have announced a significant expansion of their cargo operations between South America and Europe, set to begin in October. The expansion will see an increase in freighter operations using the group's B767F fleet, rising to 15 weekly frequencies. This adjustment represents a 25% boost in cargo capacity between the two regions, reinforcing LATAM Cargo Group's commitment to supporting international trade.
The expanded service will offer 15 weekly frequencies from Europe to South America, providing the most convenient itineraries and flight days in the market. The schedule includes three daily flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. These flights will connect multiple European origins with various destinations in South America, maximizing flexibility for customers.
LATAM Cargo Group's B767F fleet will provide access to an extensive range of South American destinations. This network will include major hubs such as Campinas (Viracopos - São Paulo), Santiago de Chile, and Lima, alongside medium-sized destinations including Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, São José dos Campos, Florianópolis, Montevideo, and Buenos Aires. The expanded capacity is expected to enhance delivery times to final destinations, strengthening the region's logistics ecosystem.
In the opposite direction, the South America-to-Europe route will also see 15 weekly frequencies. This includes maintaining the existing 10 frequencies departing from Quito on the Pacific side, while adding five new frequencies originating from Brazil. All flights will be operated by LATAM Cargo Group and its subsidiaries, ensuring consistent and reliable service.
Andres Bianchi, CEO of LATAM Cargo Group, emphasized the company's commitment to its strategic markets, stating, "In a challenging and constantly evolving global environment, we remain committed to our strategic markets, strengthening routes where we can offer differentiated and reliable service. Today, together with our subsidiaries, we lead the cargo market between South America and Europe with a 23% share of total capacity."
This expansion not only enhances LATAM Cargo Group's market share but also provides customers with greater flexibility and improved connectivity, further solidifying its position as a leading cargo carrier in the region.
