Azerbaijan increases exports of persimmons and hazelnuts in 2025

Between January and April 2025, Azerbaijan exported 45,835 tonnes of persimmons, generating $32.95 million in export revenue, according to the State Customs Committee.

Compared to the same period in 2024, persimmon exports increased by 10,473 tonnes (29.6%) in volume and by $5.17 million (18.6%) in value. During the first four months of 2024, Azerbaijan exported 35,363 tonnes of persimmons worth $27.78 million.

The average export price per kilogram of persimmons stood at 1.22 AZN (approx $0.72), down 0.11 AZN (8.5%) year-on-year. In the same period last year, the average price was 1.34 AZN (approx $0.79) per kilogram.

In the same period, hazelnut exports also increased. Azerbaijan exported 7,969 tonnes of hazelnuts valued at $53.86 million, showing a 17.4% increase in volume and a 29.6% increase in value compared to January–April 2024, when 6,788 tonnes were exported for $41.55 million.

The average export price per kilogram of hazelnuts in the first four months of 2025 reached 11.49 AZN (approx. $6.76), up 1.09 AZN (10.4%) from a year earlier.
