In the UAE, a new promotional initiative is underway at select Al Maya Supermarkets. This campaign spotlights U.S.-grown potatoes, showcasing a variety of types from purple and red to yellow and russet. The push involves collaborations with various stakeholders, including Kamal Vachani of Al Maya Group, USDA's Valerie Brown in Dubai, and Victoria Hassani from Potatoes USA, GCC. Maria Knight Pacheco and Purple Juachon also play roles in marketing operations.
U.S. potatoes, cultivated under stringent safety standards, offer diverse culinary uses and nutritional benefits. "We are proud to partner with Potatoes USA on this exciting initiative. At Al Maya Group, we are committed to offering our customers high-quality international products, and U.S. potatoes represent the very best in global agricultural excellence," states Kamal Vachani.
As one of the largest potato producers, the United States supports over 2,500 growers. The campaign emphasizes that U.S. potatoes' attributes—flavour, texture, and versatility—are ideal for a wide range of culinary applications such as roast dishes, mashes, salads, and gourmet meals. Nutritionally, they provide Vitamin C, potassium, fibre, and carbohydrates.
At participating Al Maya Supermarkets, the campaign features educational displays and special offers aimed at encouraging innovative culinary uses for these potatoes. This effort reflects Al Maya Group's ongoing commitment to high-quality, globally sourced products and enhancing customer experiences within its UAE retail presence.
