"This recognition reinforces our vision: not just to grow, but to create unique varieties"

Dana blueberry variety was awarded 2 stars at the Superior Taste Awards

The Dana blueberry variety, exclusive to the Spanish cooperative Onubafruit, has been awarded 2 stars at the prestigious Superior Taste Awards held by the International Taste Institute in Brussels.

This year, the Demba variety (another of Onubafruit's varieties) was awarded 3 stars, the highest rating available. The jury of the Superior Taste Awards is comprised of chefs and sommeliers from some of the world's most prestigious culinary associations.

The Dana variety stood out for its balanced flavor, firm and juicy texture, and organoleptic experience that places it among the best in its category.

"This type of recognition reinforces our vision: Not only to cultivate, but to create unique varieties that connect with the palate of the most demanding consumer. Dana and Demba are not the result of chance, but of continuous effort in varietal development and agronomic excellence," stated the president of Onubafruit, Antonio Tirado.

Both the Dana and Demba varieties were developed exclusively by Onubafruit and the Dutch company Fruit Vision under the umbrella of Mundo Azul varieties. "Their success in international markets reflects the growing added value that consumers attach to authentic flavor and differentiated quality," Tirado stated. "These awards consolidate our leadership in the berry sector."
