In the first five months of 2025, Kyrgyzstan significantly boosted its fruit and vegetable exports, reflecting strong external demand and favorable growing conditions.
Carrot exports reached 15,453 tonnes, up by 3,000 tonnes compared to the same period in 2024. Cabbage shipments rose by 2,936 tonnes, and pumpkin exports grew by 3,672 tonnes.
Fruit and berry exports also demonstrated solid growth. Apple exports increased by 9,814 tonnes, pears by 6,427 tonnes, cherries by 2,758 tonnes, and strawberries by 2,347 tonnes.
Experts expect continued growth in export demand for berries, apples, tomatoes, peppers, and fresh herbs through the remainder of the season. Higher-quality products, good weather, and Kyrgyz producers' stronger market positions overseas are all credited with the sector's growth.
