Azerbaijan is working to establish exports of hazelnuts and almonds to China, according to Akber Aliyev, a representative of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan.
Negotiations are ongoing with China's General Administration of Customs to finalize export protocols, which are expected to be signed by the end of the year.
Aliyev stated that all required technical documents have already been submitted to the Chinese side. At the same time, Azerbaijani producers are adjusting their production processes to meet international standards.
Azerbaijan ranks among the world's leading producers of hazelnuts, which are a key agricultural export product.
Exports will begin once all agreements are in place.
