The harvesting of Sicilian seedless table grapes is now in full swing, with a good quality product and interesting volumes. No plant diseases are reported, and the climate is in line with crop requirements.
"Harvesting started on 20 May as planned and, right from the start, we received the appreciation of our business partners who demanded and obtained a high-end product," explained Angelo Brunetti, founder of the 'Uva Brunetti' brand.
The Uva Brunetti brand boasts 150 hectares of seedless grapes of the most sought-after varieties such as Arra 30 - Sugar Drop™, Arra 19, Arra 11, Millennium, Superior, Summer Royal, Timco, Flame, Autumn Crisp, and a smaller availability of Victoria and Red Globe. The first ones were and continue to be Arra 30 - Sugar Drop™ and Flame, then it will be the turn of Millennium, Summer Royal, and so on, until September.

"Prices are quite high at the moment, but we are at such an early stage that we cannot yet speak of a market trend. On the other hand, we are really the first to arrive on the Italian and foreign markets with a domestic product, and we certainly belong to a super niche from a seasonal point of view. Equally certain is that our product is handled in the fields with the utmost care and attention in terms of respecting the health of end consumers: nothing to do with products from overseas that travel thousands of nautical miles."
"The premises are really good, considering that our business customers, especially the Italian ones, are expecting larger volumes to meet their programs. After all, we are still in May, but the critical mass will be much larger already by the first week of June. In the meantime, however, we have started with the product suitable for foreign countries, where the grapes are sought after with a slightly delayed ripening. This applies to almost all of Europe, excluding France and, last but not least, Poland, where the grapes must be well ripe to be marketed."
"With our 150 hectares of seedless grapes, we are able to satisfy not only our regular customers, but also new ones who want to bring good, healthy, and seedless grapes to end consumers in their geographical areas. We are essentially talking about the northern European markets. We are in our first year of direct marketing, although we are pioneers because we started with seedless varieties a good 10 years ago, and our product is already highly sought after on an international level. We are enthusiastic and full of energy to face a highly challenging and certainly profitable season. With a growing consumer trend towards seedless grapes, we are therefore a pioneering company and enjoy a not inconsiderable competitive advantage that we are ready to capitalise on."
