Avocado steady, asparagus and blueberry prices dip

The U.S. seasonal produce market continues to shift as movement patterns and prices adjust across major growing and shipping regions. Below is an overview of current activity by commodity as of June 18, 2025.

Asparagus
Movement from Mexico via Arizona, California, and Texas is expected to increase slightly. Trading is slow. Prices for large sizes are lower, while others remain generally unchanged. Jumbo 11-pound cartons/crates are mostly $24.75-26.75, large are mostly $22.75-24.75, and standard are mostly $22.75-24.75. The Michigan movement is stable, with very active trading. Jumbo 11-pound cartons are mostly $28.75-30.75, large are mostly $26.75-28.75, and standard are mostly $26.75. Pyramid 28-pound cartons show jumbo at $64.75-66.75, and large and standard mostly $62.75. Peruvian imports through Southern California continue at steady levels with fairly light supplies.

Avocado
Movement from Mexico through Texas is steady, with slow trading and mostly unchanged prices. Hass 2-layer cartons show 32s at $62.25-64.25, 36s at $61.25-63.25, and 40-48s at $58.25-60.25. Smaller sizes are lower with 60s at $37.25-39.25 and 70s at $34.25-36.25. Organic 48s are $78.25-80.25. Peruvian imports through Northeast ports are increasing seasonally, with 40s at $32.00-35.35 and 48s mostly at $28.00-30.00. California movement is steady with moderate trading. Organic 60s are lower, while other prices are steady. Hass 40-48s are mostly $61.25-63.25.

Blueberry
The North Carolina movement is steady with moderate trading and slightly lower prices. Flats of 12 1-pint cups are mostly $18.00-20.00. The Georgia movement is decreasing seasonally with similar pricing trends. The Central and Southern California movement remains steady. Six-ounce flats are slightly lower, with a wide range from $12.00-16.00, while 1-pint flats range from $20.00-24.00. Organic pint flats are $26.00-30.00. Oregon and Washington harvests are expected to begin later this week. Imports from Chile and Peru are ending with an insufficient supply to establish a market.

Cucumber
Mexican movement through Texas is decreasing, with fairly slow trading. Prices for large sizes are slightly lower. 1 1/9-bushel cartons for medium and large are mostly $10.95-12.95, with fair and ordinary quality ranging lower. Mexican movement through Otay Mesa is increasing. Mediums are mostly $14.00, and large and 36s range from $7.00-12.00. South Georgia is increasing with fairly active trading and slightly higher prices. Waxed mediums are mostly $12.35-14.00.

Tomato
The Florida West and South Carolina movement is increasing. Trading is moderate with slightly lower prices. 25-pound loose cartons of jumbo are $11.35, 5x6s mostly $9.35-10.35, and 6x6s mostly $8.50-9.35. Mexico crossings through Texas are declining with unchanged prices. Vine Ripe 2-layer cartons of 4x4s and 4x5s are mostly $7.37-7.95. Nogales crossings are sharply down with limited supply. California Central District movement is expected to rise with reports pending.
