Shipping and logistics company Maersk has announced it will end business relationships with companies linked to Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. The decision, made public on Monday, follows a review of its operations in the region and comes amid ongoing scrutiny of international companies operating in territories considered illegal under international law.
In its statement, Maersk said it had strengthened its screening procedures regarding transport activities related to Israeli settlements. The company stated that its updated screening process now aligns with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) database, which lists enterprises involved in settlement-related activities.
"Following a recent review of transport related to the West Bank, we further strengthened our screening procedures in relation to Israeli settlements, including aligning our screening process with the OHCHR database of enterprises involved in activities in the settlements," Maersk said.
In recent months, Maersk has faced growing attention from human rights organizations and was added to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign list in March 2025.
